Intertwined Nightmares: The Siege of Falborne Kingdom,A Necromancer's Ambition(Halloween 2009)

The ice holding the brute to the ground cracked and splintered quickly. The group had to act fast if they were to take it down. Yuuki rushed again and attempted to take it's other arm, but with a defensive reflex, it twisted it's body at the torso and deflected her swing with it's chest-plate. Now at extremely close range without an attack ready, Yuuki was unable to counter the beast's attack as he reached around and grabbed her left arm and torso in his massive hand.

Up he lifted her, then down to the ground she went, the creature focusing all of it's weight ontop of her, attempting to crush her. Seth wasted no time, and with a well placed flying kick to the back, bent the beast further over and threw off it's balance. Seth, still on it's back, stepped up further to position himself on the monster's shoulder. He then bore himself downward and let loose with a destructive exploding fireball at point-blank to it's head (Pyro Shot) as he jumped away.

It flailed in the air, roaring in anger at what had just happened. Yuuki, still in it's hand, wasn't about to be flung around like a rag-doll, and thus severed it's arm at the elbow with her free hand. She flew for a good distance before landing with the death-grip of the hand still in full effect.

Seth rushed to her aid and helped to loosen the fingers so that she could escape. However, through the smoke created by the earlier fireball, the creature's yellow eyes narrowed as it located the two. It let loose in a full on charge. Yuuki was still pinned down with the thing's arm attached to her, and Seth had his back turned.

The slight tremmors of the crature's footsteps could be felt, and caught the attention of the two, but it was too late. The 'Tank' was now only a few feet away, and going at a full on sprint toward them. Seth broke into a fighting stance, but it was messy and unbalanced. The creature slammed it's head into the boy's in a downward manner, causing his vision to go black instantly. A swift kick followed, and Seth was sent flying off into a nearby wall. The creature turned it's attention back to the incapacitated girl, violently struggling to cut away at the fingers that held her down. It lifted it's foot and prepared to put all of it's weight into one single stomp, undoubtably capable of crushing her ribs and ending her life in a moment.

"Winter's Lance!" Keri yelled as the area darkened instantly, and a large icicle was flung through the creature's chest, sending it to the ground on it's back. Shock kept Yuuki or the monster from moving for a moment, but once pain had registered in the monster's mind, it went on thrashing about against the large sharpened ice that held it skewered to the ground.

From the rubble that he was lying in, Seth arose once more, the left sleeve of his shirt torn off and many cuts and bruises covering his body. "Isn't this thing dead yet?!" He asked aloud, and ran over toward it's location, jumped into the air, and his right hand ignited into a blaze as he fell toward his target. The blow connected with the icicle and forced it deeper into the creature and the ground below until his hand made contact with the creature itself. "FLAME STRIKE!" he shouted, and the resulting explosion sent dust and debris flying with a gust of flames spouting out of the monster.

The dust cleared and Seth backed away. His fist covered in the creature's dark red blood, charred by the flames that had engulfed it. The creature moved slightly. Everyone was now more annoyed than anything. It was stubborn, too stubborn for it's own good. Now it was time to finish it. Yuuki stood, covered in blood from the creature's hand that she was forced to carve to pieces. "It was a handful...that's for sure." she said, raising her sword to the sky. "But, atleast we had fun..." The blade swung, made contact with it's neck, and the beast lay lifeless.

----------Meanwhile----------

"Sir, our calvary and scouts have made contact with the Eastern Division, and are holding their own for now. However, most of the western defences have been destroyed, and the enemy is slowly advancing through the gate!" said the messenger on the horse as he arrived in the central district.

"So our most strongly defended position has been taken over..." Justin said. "Okay, we shift the plan to phase two! Southern Division, activate barricade proceedures and fall back to the Central District! Once completed, we split off forces and work to reclaim the Western District!"

"But sir!" one of the swordsmen yelled, "We're doing fine as we are! Why would we retreat at this point in time?"

"Because the Southern District here is full of nothing but seller stalls." Justin replied, "But the people are being hidden underneath the Western District. The enemy has breached the town walls, therefore there's no point in holding our position here. We must retreat and regroup, for we are spread too thin as it is!"

"Yes sir! Spring traps!" Yelled the soldier to his right. With that, a stack of bombs were lit next to the entances as the last of the fighters ran through the gates. The explosion toppled the southern gate, and destroyed the zombies rushing through it at the time.

----------Meanwhile----------

The energy surrounding Max's blade dissipated quickly after the strike was dealt, but it was apparent that the wound in the creature wasn't deep enough to inhibit it's abilities at all.

Viel flew through the air with his powerful leg muscles throwing himself with incredible force. Flinging himself to a nearby well, he drew back and with a kick, tore through the wooden crank over the opening. He grabbed the bucket with his hand and with one of his blade-like claws on his feet, cut the rope, so that it had about eight feet remaining attached to the bucket.

Max readied himself as Viel came at him and launched the steel pail. Max deflected it, but was unable to ready himself as Veil delivered his tackle attack. Max was taken to the ground, but rolled his weight onto his shoulders, then threw his hands to the ground and managed to get his feet into the air, effectively throwing Viel off of him. Max landed and spun with his blade outstreched. Viel bent downwards and avoided contact with the blade. However, his hood was thrown off in the process.

Max turned and readied his sword once more, but was shocked by the hideous look of the thing he had been fighting. "Geez...no wonder you wear that thing..." He snickered. "You sure some loser like you could manage killing Keri? What'd you do, take your hood off and scare her to death?"

Viel was furious as he bent down snarling. He reached over his back and pulled the burlap-made hood back over his face. "I'll enjoy hearing you scream when your time comes human. But my job is done here, and I shall report back to father." he said. Max stepped out to approach him, but with a flick of his wrist, Viel flung the bucket at him from the side in a circular motion. The rope tied around Max's body and prevented him from approaching any further. After working the ropes off in a couple of seconds, Max looked around to see Viel had disappeared.

Yuuki looked down at her outfit and groaned.

"I'm all covered in blood now," she complained.

She thought back to her friend, Satsuki, and imagined her face if she could see her now. She chuckled softly to herself, the turned to the other two.

"Well, I have no time to change. We better go make sure your friends are okay," Yuuki said.

She reached into her bag and quickly pulled out a towel and some water. She got the towel wet and attempted to clean the blood off her as best as she could.

"Well, I guess this will do," she said. "Come on!"

She took off in the direction of the blood from earlier, Kerri and Seth following.

((OOC: Sorry, this is all I could think up. -_-))

'What the hell' is what was on everyones minds as they neared the Central District only to be halted by a blanket of fog slowly creeping towards them.

"What the hell",((OOC:lol))Mox whispered to Genn under his breath as the rest of the retreating soldiers from the Western District slowly backpeddled there way away from the fog that was now gaining great height completely absorbing the buildings behind it. Genn quickly peered over at Justin who had a look on his face resembling someone who had just been confronted with a huge stall in his plan.

"Over there!",said a panicked soldier who pointed down a nearby passageway with his sword as a enormous amount of Fog was now blocking there way from going around it, who at the same time turned around in unison along with they rest of the Western Defensive Company to see that the Fog had now completely enveloped them and was now pushing its way in-towards where they all now stood.

"What should we do?", one of the lightfoots who was now constantly watching the Fog closing in on them and then glancing at Justin who was clearly thinking of plan to get out of this mess.

Many of the Soldiers were beginning to be nauseous and acting like they were fighting off sleep. There large group that was standing in a wide formation was know standing closer together moving constantly in a tighter formation as the Fog closed them in on all sides not wanting to be caught inside of it at any cost.

Mox who was now standing back to back with Genn each at ready with there weapons.

"Maybe we should run for it?",Mox questioned as he glanced over his shoulder towards Genn.

"No, trust me you don't wanna be in that thing for too long its too risky",he whispered to Mox who was now shuffling closer towards him with his rifle still at ready, as the Fog constantly creeped in towards them.

"So this is it huh..final stand against an invincible enemy that we cant even fight fairly",he said as he tried to hold his breath now saddened at the truth of the situation.

"As so it seems,"Genn replied.

Karu blinked slowly as he rose slowly from the bed seeing a disgruntled Eric staring back at him along with Kit and Gravv who had concerned looks on there faces. He began rubbing the back of his head wincing at the pain while Eric moved closer as if now trusting him, taking a step back as Karu shook off his "sleep".

"So, whats been going on?"

"Karu's a zombie!" Gravv yelled, letting lose with a devastating right hook to the newly awakened light-foot. Recovering with a roll to his feet, Karu retaliated by smashing the poor guy's face into a wall, causing him to fall to the ground in a dazed manner.

"I am NOT a zombie!" he replied at the downed mercinary. A still dazed Gravv managed a thumbs-up before slowly climbing to his feet and walking away.

"The shit's hit the fan bro." Eric said motioning toward the trap door that led up to the surface. "We're here in a huge cellar beneath the Mercinary Shop. Apparently, it was built as a secret refuge for the civilians of the town in time of crisis. The entrance is well hidden within Genn's house, but it's only a matter of time before they find us once they manage to raid the town."

"So, we're stuck down here?" Karu asked.

"Not at all," Kitt replied, "Max left out of here a little while ago to go and help Keri out. The people will simply wait here for the King to send troops to our aid. They should be here within the hour if our messenger got to them."

A look of distraught came over Karu's face and Eric noticed it. "What are you thinking of doing?" he asked.

----------Meanwhile----------

"Max!" Keri shouted, running up to greet the swordsman as he stood with a confused look on his face.

"Ha! Knew he was lying..." Max replied with a sigh of relief, "No way he could've killed you. And I see Seth's here with you too."

"You know, you can't leave this one alone for five seconds without her getting into trouble." Seth said as he motioned toward Keri with a smirk.

"Where'd the other girl go?" Max asked. The two of them immediately turned about and noticed that the blue-haired girl that had been with them had vanished.

"Uh...I'm sure she's okay." Keri said shaking her head. "Is this where all the people went to?"

"Yeah," Max replied in a worried voice, "but one of those things saw me come out of there and figured it out. They'll no doubt focus their efforts here."

"We should begin preparing for the attack then." Seth sugguested, "It's only a matter of time before the city's defenses fall."

"Agreed," Max said, "Keri, you go inside and help Eric look after Karu and get some rest yourself. Seth and I will go out and round up some troops if we can. There's no way we can get through this by ourselves."

Yuuki smirked to herself as she hid atop a nearby shop. She'd be doing her part to help out as well.

----------Meanwhile----------

"This stuff cam out of nowhere," Justin thought aloud, "Something's gotta be close by producing it." He focused his mind and spread out the range of his mind-detecting abilities a little. He noted how many troops he had with him, and aside from them, there were seven other beings within 100 yard radius.

Justin raised his hand up in the air to gather the attention of the troops under him. He signaled a wave of swordsmen to fan out to the left into a small pond area with some trees. Then he motioned for Genn and Mox with their five remaining light-foot troops to flank around a nearby shop. Finally he rushed himself with a small band of swordsmen and spearmen straight down the street.

The effects of the fog worsened quickly as they went through it. It burned the skin slightly and made it incredibly hard to see, not because it was a thick fog, but because it was inhibiting the bodily functions of all it touched as if it were poison gas. It was worse now than it had been in Silent Hill, much worse, as if it were a massively concentrated dose.

Justin's group closed in on their targets, three hideous looking creatures, seemingly humans at one point, but they seemed incredibly thin. Like everything inside of the skin had been removed aside from muscle and bone. The skin on them was incredibly loose, and seemed to just hang off of them. They were truly hideous looking creatures. Then Justin witnessed the reason for their grotesque shape. The two instantly inhaled a massive ammount of air through their massive jaws and inflated much like a bull-frog would. Their skin strained as their body-size easily tripled.

Simultaneously, they released their respective stockpiles of air and out of their mouths came massive bursts of the noxious mist that had already enveloped the group. "Move!" Justin yelled at his men as he rushed to the side. Some of them followed suit instantly, but others weren't as quick and were swallowed by the wave of gas. They screamed out in agony, but were quickly silenced and began to sway to and fro. "They were turned instantly?" Justin asked himself in disbelief.

Moments later, Justin noticed that the number of presences he could sense had increased drastically. Turning back to the Southern gate, he noticed a wave of infected that were swarming toward them. He had to do something, and he decided that now was the time. He lunged forward, falchion drawn, ready to cleave the one in the middle down with a single swing. It inhaled quickly to fill itself with air, and Justin quickly jumped away to a safe distance figuring out it's plan, however a single spearman had rushed with him that he didn't notice. The point of the spear punctured the skin of the monster, and the held in air popped it like a balloon. The burst of gas that errupted from it's body blew away the spearman and no doubt turned him in an instant.

"Damn..." Justin thought as he stood in a readied stance. He wasn't going to sacrifice his men just to kill these things. They had to strike immediately after one of them fired another wave of mist.
